NARZĘDNIK / Instrumental
Have a look at the above sentences. They all saying the someone (subject) is/are student/students. Thay include the ver "to be" (być) in present tense and the noun (in instrumental). The verb "być" collocates with instrumental when we talk about a state of being someone/something (kind of identity).
